Why you should buy an unpainted STAS Trailer
When purchasing a new aluminium tipping or moving floor trailer, you have the choice to leave the trailer unpainted. This offers two major advantages: direct and indirect cost reduction for your business and a positive impact on the environment. Here’s why going unpainted could be the best decision for your next trailer investment.
What’s in It for You?
Lower Initial Cost: Opting for an unpainted trailer significantly reduces the initial cost, as the expenses associated with the painting process are eliminated. Unpainted trailers are less expensive to manufacture, and these savings are directly passed on to the buyer, making it a more affordable option from the start.
Lower Cost of Ownership: Over time, an unpainted trailer also proves to be more economical in terms of maintenance. Without paint, there’s no need for touch-ups, repainting, or repairs due to paint damage, which reduces both downtime and maintenance costs. This contributes to a lower overall cost of ownership throughout the trailer’s lifespan.
Lighter and More Efficient: An unpainted trailer can be up to 40 kg lighter. This reduced weight means your vehicles can carry more cargo and operate more efficiently, saving fuel and boosting your bottom line. In a business where every kilogram matters, this can significantly enhance your overall logistics efficiency.
Tailored to Your Needs: Unpainted trailers have an eye-catching look that will fit right into your fleet. In fact, there are already many unpainted trailers driving around in Italy and Spain, and they look fantastic on the road.
Even with an unpainted Trailer, you still have plenty of customization options. You can add your company’s personal livery and choose the color of the STAS stickers to make your trailer stand out. And there is always the option to paint just the chassis while keeping the body unpainted, giving you the best of both worlds.
A More Sustainable Choice
Reduced Environmental Impact: An unpainted STAS trailer offers significant environmental benefits. By opting for an unpainted trailer, you’re saving an average of 600 kg CO₂ equivalent per trailer in our production. This includes the emissions from producing and processing the paint, as well as the natural gas consumption in our paint ovens. Painting a trailer consumes a considerable amount of energy, and the curing process typically requires high temperatures, reaching 60°C twice during the entire paint process.
It's important to note that the environmental impact can vary depending on trailer configurations and the outside temperature during the painting process—larger trailers require more paint, and colder weather increases gas consumption to maintain the necessary temperature in the paint ovens. This data is based on ADEME Base Carbone 2022 V22.0.
Less Waste, Longer Life: Unpainted trailers also mean less waste over time. You don’t have to ––worry about paint peeling or chipping, and when something has to be repaired or replaced on your trailer you can basically skip the entire repainting process, which saves a few hours work and a few kilograms of hazardous waste.
In summary, choosing an unpainted STAS trailer benefits both your business and the environment. You’ll enjoy lower costs, increased efficiency, and fewer maintenance concerns, while also making a sustainable choice that reduces energy, water use, and emissions. It’s a win for you and a win for the planet.
