Aluminium wear plates are fitted to protect the inside of the trailer body from highly abrasive loads. By abrasive loads, we mean loads that rub hard against the side walls during unloading, materials such as sand, gravel, glass, stones, or scrap metal. Wear plates exist in different sizes and shapes, but the standard thickness is 4 mm. The size and shape are strongly dependent on the cargo. For example, you can choose between wear plates of 6 or 3 m in length that go to different heights of the container. When a wear plate is worn out, a new plate can easily be welded in to protect the inside of the trailer.
