Liners ensure fast, efficient and safe bulk transport

As a specialist in manufacturing walking floor and tipper trailers, we are also specialists when it comes to the characteristics of bulk goods when loading and unloading. From sand to gravel, from clay to demolition, from glass to scrap... all these raw materials have different properties and often lead to a separate approach during the unloading process.

Sticky bulk materials, incomplete unloading, steep angles of inclination or uneven ground are often problematic and dangerous. Our drivers know the consequences: higher safety risks and loss of time.

To make the unloading process faster, more efficient and safer, even for bulk materials that are difficult to unload, STAS offers a wide range of liners. These liners can be used on all our tipping trailers except demolition and asphalt trailers and are an important aid for safe and efficient bulk transport.

Benefits of a liner

  • Liners are highly wear-resistant, they withstand the bulk materials up to three times better than aluminium, while being three times lighter than aluminium. This is clearly visible when disassembling the liner at the end of the (extended) life cycle of the tipping trailer. After disassembly, we don't see any damage to the aluminium body. Liners thererfore reduce maintenance and repair costs and maximise the second-hand value of your tipper.
  • A second characteristic is that the tipping angle at which the bulk goods are unloaded will be considerably smaller because the load will move much fast. This comes in handy in case of uneven or unstable road surface, as the trailer's  centre of gravity will be lower, which ensures a safer and more stable tipping angle. The height of the tipped trailer is also lower, which can significantly reduce the risk of contact with obstacles.
  • The third benefit of a liner is that it makes the inside of the tipper body very smooth. As a result, even more difficult loads such as sand, gravel, limestone, grain and fertilizer are unloaded faster and more efficiently. Making the unloading process faster results in a larger number of loads per day and therefore a higher profitability.

How is the liner applied?

The liner is applied on tippers at our Belgian dealer Atrac in Waregem.

As the liner shrinks and expands, depending on the temperatures (a difference of up to approximately 1 cm per 10°C is possible), the liner is installed as a floating unit and is only attached at the front. On the sides, the liner is fixed by a Z-profile that is held against the aluminium tipping body.

When the front liner is mounted and welded to the floor and sidewalls, the liner is fixed inside the body.

In the PDF file below you will find an overview of all our liners and coatings available for your tipper trailer, and you get an idea of which liner is ideal for your type of transport.
