Confidential processing of personal data
STAS NV, with registered office at Flanders Fieldweg 45, 8790 Waregem, registered in the Register of Legal Persons (Ghent, Kortrijk Division) under number 0430.995.942 (hereinafter "Stas NV", "we", "us", "our", "our" or derivatives), attaches the utmost importance to the privacy of its users. We understand that your trust is our most important asset. This Privacy Statement (hereinafter referred to as "Privacy Statement") applies, inter alia, to (i) our website https://www.stas.be (hereinafter referred to as the "Website").
You can visit our Website, inquire about our services and consult blog posts without providing your personal data.
If you do communicate personal information to us, we will treat it confidentially in accordance with the provisions below and national and international legal requirements.

Categories of processed personal data

Purpose of processing
If you communicate your personal data to us, it will be included in our database for the purpose of:
- Improve the quality of our services and information;
- To perform the agreement you entered into with us;
- Informing you with tips and new developments in the world of transport;
- Informing you in connection with the services we offer;
- Statistical purposes;
- Etc.
Consent to processing
When you wish to leave your personal data on our website, you will be asked (via opt-in) whether you wish to give your consent for the processing of that data by STAS NV. This consent will then consist of ticking a box stating that you authorise STAS NV to process your personal data for the purposes mentioned above. You have the right to withdraw your consent to processing at any time. However, withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of the processing operations that took place before the withdrawal of your consent. Execution of the agreement
When you share your personal data with Stas NV if this is necessary for the performance of an agreement with Stas NV or to take measures at your request before the conclusion of the agreement, the processing is based on the performance of the agreement. The performance of the agreement includes (without being limited to this) the execution of the order and invoicing.
Stas NV may use your personal data for the following purposes:
- The (efficient) performance of the agreement;
- Offering customer service;
- Customer management and billing for our goods and services;
- Any other necessary activity in the context of the contractual relationship Stas NV has with you.
Legitimate interest
Where the processing of your personal data is necessary for the protection of the legitimate interests of Stas NV or a third party, the processing is based on this legitimate interest, except where your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms requiring the protection of your personal data outweigh your interests.
Necessary for a legal obligation
As part of our business, we may be under a legal obligation to process certain personal data. For example, we may have to comply with legal obligations such as record keeping, in connection with the prevention, monitoring and combating of criminal behaviour, crimes, fraud and money laundering activities.

STAS NV will not disclose your personal data to third parties unless this is necessary in the context of the performance of services by STAS NV and their optimisation (such as but not limited to maintenance work, payment processing, database management). If it is necessary for STAS NV to disclose your personal data to third parties in this context, such as suppliers, manufacturers, dealers, etc., the third party in question is obliged to use your personal data in accordance with the provisions of this Privacy Statement.
However, without prejudice to the foregoing, STAS NV may disclose your personal data to the competent authorities (i) when STAS NV is required to do so by law or in the context of judicial or future legal proceedings and (ii) for the purpose of safeguarding and defending our rights.
In all other cases, STAS NV will not sell, rent or transfer your personal data to third parties, unless it has (i) obtained your consent to do so and (ii) concluded a data processing agreement with the third party in question, which contains the necessary guarantees regarding confidentiality and privacy conformity of your personal data.
When submitting forms on the Website, your IP address is shared with Google.
Storage of personal data
Unless a longer retention period is required or justified (i) by law or (ii) by compliance with another legal obligation, STAS NV will only retain your personal data for the period necessary to achieve and fulfil the purposes, as described in the Privacy Statement under 'purpose of processing'.

- Right to transferability of your personal data;
- Right of objection/opposition to the processing of your personal data: If you no longer wish to receive newsletters or information about our services, you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the "unsubscribe" button provided at the bottom of every email from STAS NV;

Personal data security
STAS NV undertakes to take reasonable, physical, technological and organisational (precautionary) measures to prevent (i) unauthorised access to your personal data, as well as (ii) the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal data.
STAS NV will store all personal data it has collected in the cloud (with data centre(s) within the EU).
Cross-border processing of personal data
STAS NV guarantees that no transfer of personal data will take place outside the European Union or the European Economic Area (EEA).
