Discover the new STAS Factory Medias: Open day and first local dealer day

After several successful editions of STAS Dealerdays in Belgium in 2019, 2021 and 2023, it was the turn of STAS Factory Medias in Romania for an official opening in early April and the very first Romanian Dealerday. In any case, we couldn't wait to invite our local dealers and some customers to give them an exclusive look at our brand new factory.

Medias, Romania

But why Medias? In order to respond to growing end-customer demand and ensure material flow, it was necessary for the STAS group to mitigate all possible risks of single sourcing. Therefore, in 2017, we decided to take over supplier BB-trailer, which was then the largest supplier to STAS Factory Freudenberg. Thanks to this vertical integration, we have more control over the quality and delivery reliability of certain components and can further scale up our production.

Medias has a rich history within the automotive industry, a well-developed infrastructure and ample workforce with experience and know-how in our industry. Thanks to a central location in Eastern Europe, we can smoothly serve our local dealers with the production of our steel U-Rockstar tipper, steel tipper Ferrostar and alu tipper Agrostar. With a dedicated team of some 50 employees, the factory can produce around 300 tippers per year and sub-assemblies for STAS Factory Freudenberg.

STAS Dealerday Medias

In early June 2023, we organised STAS Dealerday for the very first time at STAS Factory Medias. Who was on the guest list? Some local STAS dealers, customers and of course the STAS employees who helped make this possible! Director Brecht and Director Pepijn gave attendees an overview of the factory's history, explanation of the go-to-market of the range and the growth plan. Procurement expert Ward then elaborated on the challenges we face with regard to the supply chain and working with local (and therefore different) suppliers compared to the factories in Belgium and Germany.

After these presentations, attendees were given a full tour of the factory where the different stages of the production process were explained; from the bodyline to the chassis line and paint line. This was followed by round table sessions and a time to give product feedback. The day ended with a nice dinner at a local restaurant coupled with an excellent wine tasting. An optimal moment for networking and getting to know each other better. All in all, the first edition was a success that we are still enjoying. Thanks to all attendees for making the event such a success and hopefully until the next edition!
